Special elections held Tuesday for 3 New York State Legislature seats

NEW YORK, New York (WABC) -- Polls are now open for special elections for three seats in the New York State Legislature.

The seats on the ballot Tuesday are:

  • 36th Assembly District in Queens, the seat previously held by Mayor Zohran Mamdani


  • 74th Assembly District in Manhattan, the seat previously held by Harvey Epstein, who is now on the City Council


  • 47th Senate District in Manhattan, previously held by Brad Hoylman-Sigal, who became Manhattan borough president


Early voting started Sat. Jan. 24, but was suspended the next two days due to the winter storm.



On Election Day, polls are open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
