The events, located in the heart of the country's largest city at the start of the Fourth of July weekend, were expected to be highly secure affairs, with road closures, tents and canopies to keep the nuptials private and safe.
The logistics provided by the NYPD on Thursday, include street closures to vehicular and pedestrian traffic, in addition to parking restrictions.
Street Closures
Starting at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 3, the following streets will be closed to vehicular traffic:
- Seventh Avenue between 30th and 34th streets
- West 33rd Street between Sixth and Seventh avenues
- West 32nd Street between Sixth and Seventh avenues
- West 31st Street between Sixth and Seventh avenues
- West 31st Street between Seventh and Eighth avenues
Starting at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 3, the following streets/areas will be closed to pedestrian traffic:
- West side of Seventh Avenue between 31st and 34th streets
- West 33rd Street between Seventh and Eighth avenue
Starting at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 3, there will be managed access to the following streets/areas:
- East side of Eighth Avenue between 30th and 34th streets
- West 33rd Street between Sixth and Seventh avenues
- West 32nd Street between Sixth and Seventh avenues
- West 31st Street between Sixth and Seventh avenues
On Thursday, July 2 starting at 11:15 p.m., no parking will be allowed on West 33rd Street between Sixth and Seventh avenues. Cars will be towed if they are not removed.
Moynihan Train Hall/Penn Station
For access to transportation at Moynihan Train Hall and Penn Station, including the subway, Amtrak, LIRR, and New Jersey Transit, please use the entrances to Moynihan Station on the west side of Eighth Avenue at 31st and 33rd streets.
There will be managed access to Penn Station on the northeast corner of 8th Avenue and 31st Street.
Kelce and Swift, for their part, have not commented on any reports related to the Madison Square Garden events this weekend.
