Advocates call for New York City Council to pass law to improve visibility at intersections

NEW YORK CITY (WABC) -- The New York City Council, which made jay walking legal last year, is now under pressure from traffic safety advocates to quickly pass safer intersections.

The Council has just two weeks left to pass what's called "universal daylighting."

It refers to a law that prohibits parking to intersections, protecting sightlines so drivers can see pedestrians waiting on the curb.

Many drivers may not like the idea, but some pedestrians do.
