NEW YORK (WABC) -- The FDNY's training at the Academy deals extensively with rescuing people in the subway. Seeing people self-evacuate during the 'A' train subway derailment on Tuesday made fire officials greatly concerned.

FDNY officials say the real danger in Tuesday's derailment came when subway riders took it on themselves to self-evacuate. That, they say, put them in serious danger of coming in contact with the electrified third rail.
