The man did not make contact with a train or the third rail and MTA workers were able to help him up from the tracks.
The 54-year-old victim was evaluated by EMS but his injuries did not appear to be serious.
The suspect ran away from the scene but was taken into custody a short time later. Charges against him are pending.
It's another reminder for riders to stay alert.
Just last week, a 39-year-old man was arrested at a homeless shelter after allegedly slamming a woman's head against the side of the train as it left the station. She was critically injured in the unprovoked attack.
These kinds of attacks are on pace with last year when nine people were shoved onto the tracks. In the first half of the year, there have been four.
