"For those left to weep, we give thanks, for those who weep for lostt of lives, loss of homes, for loss of memories," said Rev. Terry Troia.
Families paused to honor those who died, embrace those who suffered and recognize how one powerful storm can wipe out so much.

Superstorm Sandy broke many hearts as families lost loved ones, sentimental items were swept into the floodwaters, and roofs collapsed.
Whole communities were wiped out on Staten Island and Queens, and rebuilding has not been easy.
The storm's nightmare was compounded by years of bureaucratic and logistical nightmares -- but there have also been heroes in our midst.
"We started bringing sandwiches around and collecting clothing," said Staten Island resident Carla Mohan.
A weeping willows memorial -- 24 sculptural trees to remember the 24 Staten Island residents who died in Superstorm Sandy, will be up all weekend. by Monday morning, each family is invited to take home their loved one's tree.
