1 dead, 1 injured as fire tears through house in Amityville

AMITYVILLE, Long Island (WABC) -- One person was killed in a raging house fire in Suffolk County.

The flames broke out Saturday afternoon at a home on Locust Drive in Amityville.

Firefighters struggled to contain the fire, dousing it with water amid the frigid temperatures.

One other person was also injured.

There is no word yet on what caused the fire.
