1 dead in Long Island house fire, 2 others escape burning home

MASSAPEQUA, Nassau County (WABC) -- A fast-moving fire on Long Island claimed the life of one man Tuesday night.

Authorities say 62-year-old Iletan Alexandre died inside the home on Martin Street in Massapequa, while two people got out safely.

The fire apparently started in the garage around 9:45 p.m. and then spread to the rest of the house.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
