Concept car video tour: Volkswagen Budd-e

MIDTOWN, Manhattan (WABC) -- Volkswagen is showing off its electric concept car, the BUDD-e, at the 2016 New York International Auto Show.

The car's futuristic exterior is matched by conveniences of the future, like gesture controls that open and close its doors and connectivity that allows it to communicate with your phone or smartwatch.

VW says the concept van can travel up to 233 miles on a single charge. Remember, it's a concept car so don't look for it on the showroom room floor anytime soon. VW says the design is an indication of things to come for the automaker over the next decade.
