Michael Strahan hosts the new '$100,000 Pyramid'

NEW YORK (WABC) -- A classic game show is getting a reboot this summer, as "The $10,000 Pyramid" returns with as "The $100,000 Pyramid."

The prize money has increased, and a familiar face is now the host: Michael Strahan, who said replacing original host Dick Clark is daunting.

"There's a lot of pressure," he said. "But at the same time, I can't try to replace Dick Clark because there's only one of him."

The show begins with the host introducing two contestants trying to win money with the help of two celebrities.

The premiere features celebrity guests Sherri Shepherd and the star of the hit show "Black-ish," Anthony Anderson.

General topics are arranged in a pyramid, and for each one, a series of words must be guessed. The format has been around for decades, but this new version is more high tech. And having stars from different worlds playing side by side makes the show fun.

Recently, Strahan welcomed Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart as sparring celebrities.

"Sometimes a contestant is so nervous that it's my job to calm them down and get them focused on the game," Strahan said.

And sometimes, he has to calm the celebrity down, as well. Luckily, that's something he's used to doing from his years co-hosting "Live With Kelly and Michael."

"The $100,000 Pyramid" premieres Sunday at 9 p.m. on ABC.
