FLORIDA (WABC) -- It was an emotional surprise on Saturday for a mother in Florida as she met the parents of a fallen Marine who saved her life.

Crystal Osha was diagnosed with Leukemia back in 2011 and needed a bone marrow transplant to survive.

Jacob Hess, a 21-year-old Marine turned out to be a perfect match.

However, Crystal never got the chance to meet Jacob or say thank you. He was killed in Afghanistan in January this year.

The Florida hospital arranged a surprise meeting with his parents instead.

Both families say they will always share a special connection because of Jacob's donation.
