Plane crash mystery in Sussex County
Carolina Leid has the story.

WANTAGE, New Jersey (WABC) -- One person was found dead after a plane crash in Sussex County, New Jersey.

There's so much investigators still don't know.

The Cessna 210 was found upside down in a wooded area of Wantage Township.

Its wings were torn off and the pilot was found dead inside.

New Jersey State Police believe he was the only one in the single engine plane.

Investigators believe the pilot was trying to land in a field near Unionville and Mount Salem roads but clipped a tree line and crashed.

The two day search started Tuesday as a ground team out of Poughkeepsie tracked an emergency signal, eventually finding the wreckage around 11 Thursday morning.

Eyewitness News doesn't know where the pilot flew out of or where he was heading to.

People who live near the crash site point out there is Sussex Airport nearby.

The FAA and NTSB are investigating.

No name has been released for the pilot or even where he's from.
