1 dead in Brooklyn fire

EAST FLATBUSH, Brooklyn (WABC) -- One person is dead in an apparent kitchen fire in a Brooklyn apartment.

The person was discovered in a fourth-floor apartment in a building on Rockaway Parkway just after 5:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The victim was in the kitchen and may have died while cooking.

The death is under investigation.
