Suffolk County police officer accused of forcing woman to perform sex act

WEST BABYLON, Long Island (WABC) -- A Suffolk County police officer is facing charges after authorities say he forced an arrestee to perform a sexual act in the precinct.

Christopher McCoy was arrested by FBI agents Thursday morning and charged with depriving an arrestee of the right to bodily integrity, and authorities are investigating if there are additional victims.

The incident allegedly happened on March 16, 2017. Police say McCoy arrested the woman as she was the subject of several outstanding warrants in connection with unresolved vehicle and traffic offenses.

She was transported to the First Precinct in West Babylon, where she was reportedly alone with McCoy during processing. There, it is alleged that McCoy forced the woman to perform oral sex.

According to court documents, the woman claims she resisted and was told, "Let's go, don't make this hard." Upon her release, the victim, named as Jane Doe in court papers, promptly reported the incident. She reportedly provided investigators with her stained shirt as evidence.

"This type of behavior is outrageous," assistant director in charge William Sweeney said. "It won't be tolerated within our criminal justice system, and those who subject others to such cruel conduct will be swiftly removed from serving in any official capacity."

When confronted by FBI agents, prosecutors said McCoy denied it ever happened.

According to court papers, he "initially denied any sexual contact with Jane Doe," but "when agents advised defendant McCoy that they were present to collect a DNA sample pursuant to a search warrant, defendant McCoy admitted that he engaged in oral sex with Jane Doe."

The alleged victim has filed a $40 million lawsuit.
