NEW BRUNSWICK, New Jersey (WABC) -- A woman died in a house fire in New Jersey Wednesday morning.
The fire broke out in the house on Stockton Road in New Brunswick just after 12:45 a.m.
Firefighters were met with heavy smoke when they responded.
The resident, 73-year-old Loretta Katko, was discovered after firefighters put out the flames. She was located in a bedroom and pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, but authorities do not believe it to be suspicious at this time.
