BAY SHORE (WABC) -- A Brooklyn woman charged with killing and dismembering a neighbor is due in court Thursday.

Leah Cuevas, 42, will be arraigned on murder charges in the death of 27-year-old Chinelle Thompson Browne.

Prosecutors say Cuevas then dumped the torso and other body parts in Bay Shore and Hempstead.

The killing allegedly stemmed from a rent dispute. Cuevas was Browne's landlord.

The victim's family left the courtroom in tears last week, after Cuevas' initial appearance. They are still unable to comprehend the madness that took the life of an immigrant from Guyana who was the mother of four young children.

The Suffolk County Medical Examiner ruled that Browne was decapitated while she was still alive.

Authorities say investigators found the victim's blood in the hallway of her building and in the landlord's first-floor apartment.
