Brooklyn purse snatcher who targeted elderly woman caught on camera

GRAVESEND (WABC) -- Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who robbed an 80-year-old woman on the street in Brooklyn.

Now, they've released a surveillance photo they hope will lead to an arrest.

The incident happened just after 7:30 a.m. last Friday on Bay 46th Street in the Gravesend section.

Authorities say the man took the woman's purse and ran off.

The victim was hurt, but she's expected to be OK.

The suspect was last seen wearing a gray tank top, dark pants and a black do-rag. He was carrying a dark-colored backpack.
