Cops: Naked man steals landscaping truck, jumps into lake after crash

CHICAGO -- Police said a man, who witnesses described as naked, stole a landscaping truck in the Gold Coast, crashed it and jumped into Lake Michigan.

Officers conducted a well-being check for a man without clothes in the 100-block of East Delaware Place around 7 a.m. Monday. Police said when officers arrived, the 33-year-old man ran and jumped into a landscaping truck.

Police said he crashed the truck on Lake Shore Drive and abandoned the vehicle before jumping into the lake.

First responders pulled the man out of the water at Monroe Harbor. He was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital to get checked out.

No one from the landscaping team was injured.
