UPPER EAST SIDE, Manhattan (WABC) -- Potential evidence was removed from a Manhattan apartment Monday night in an investigation into the disappearance of a 26-year-old Connecticut man.

Stamford Police said that Joseph "Joey" Comunale, of Stamford, was reported missing by his father Monday morning.

He was last seen on the Upper East Side Sunday morning after he came into the city with several friends on Saturday night to attend a party held at The Grand Sutton at 418 E. 59th St. -- located between First Avenue and Sutton Place near the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge.

According to Stamford police, his friends left Sunday morning and Comunale stayed willingly behind.

On Monday after he was reported missing, the NYPD responded to the building and took the resident of that apartment into custody on an unrelated charge. According to the New York City Police Department, detectives will question him about Comunale's whereabouts.

Police obtained a search warrant and have recovered potential evidence, including blood, in the apartment and materials in a garbage bag recovered near the building.

On Tuesday night, police dogs worked the scene along with crime scene investigators in Tyvek suits. Police officers also left the co-op with a luggage cart.

They are reviewing surveillance cameras after a building employee told detectives the tenant was asking about the recording system.

The surveillance videos show both the missing man and the resident being questioned. Detectives are now putting together a timeline of their movements on Sunday.
