MIDWOOD (WABC) -- Mark Kamenogorsky lost his eyesight three decades ago during an accident. Despite being legally blind, he stays active working as a massage therapist.
Tuesday afternoon on his way home from work, the 57-year-old was robbed in busy Midwood, Brooklyn in broad daylight.
"He jumped from behind and grabbed my arm, pulled out my wallet and run away," says Kamenogorsky.
Surveillance video shows Mr. Kamenogorsky walking near Bay and Ocean Avenues using his cane. Police say the suspect followed him on a bike, and waited for the right opportunity to do the wrong thing. Moments later, he stole the victim's wallet, credit cards and $1,000 in cash.
Kamenogorsky says he is feeling okay, but that he never has a problem with the neighborhood.
"It is really quite upsetting that anybody would be taken advantage of with a disability," says Brooklyn resident Misty German, "Despite being legally blind, he stays active working as a massage therapist."
No arrests have currently been made. Anyone who has any information on the suspect is asked to call Crimestoppers at 1800-577-TIPS
