BENSONHURST, Brooklyn (WABC) -- A 3-alarm fire in Brooklyn caused a partial roof collapse, injuring several firefighters on Friday afternoon.
It happened on 61st Street in Bensonhurst.
The fire chief said that there were gas canisters in the garage that contributed to the fire.
Witnesses say that they heard an explosion just before 3 p.m. and then smelled plastic or rubber burning.
A worker transferring fuel was injured.
It took the FDNY two hours to get the fire under control.
Five firefighters suffered minor injuries.
