Homes evacuated in Far Rockaway, Queens after gas main ruptures

FAR ROCKAWAY (WABC) -- A high pressure gas main ruptured in Queens Monday morning, forcing the evacuation of a half dozen homes.

A construction crew appeared to strike the main on Seagirt Avenue and Beach 26th Street in Far Rockaway.

The FDNY is on the scene, and gas has been shut off in the area while repairs are underway.
