RYE BROOK (WABC) -- Police say a gun belonging to a hotel guest in Rye Brook accidentally went off, going through a wall and grazing a guest in an adjoining room.

According to police, the gun owner, Jason Fleming, had packed the handgun in his suitcase and was moving it to a dresser when it discharged Saturday afternoon.

The guest who was struck was not seriously hurt.

Fleming was arraigned on charges of reckless endangerment and released on $1,000 bail.

The incident happened at the Hilton Westchester.

Police say the wall and furnishings slowed the bullet before it hit the guest next door and his skin was not broken.

Fleming, 31, had a permit for the weapon, according to police.
