Father of murdered Howard Beach jogger: 'Somebody definitely knows something'
HOWARD BEACH, Queens (WABC) -- The father of the Howard Beach woman brutally murdered while jogging in broad daylight said he's determined to make sure his daughter's killer is caught.
Phil Vetrano said he believes someone knows something about Karina's death.
"A crime like this, they talk about it, you know. They talk about it. They brag about it," Vetrano said. "Somebody saw somebody come home with scratches, with a bruise, because Karina fought back. So there are bruises."

Investigators have been searching for clues and running-down leads for 10 straight days. Karina Vetrano's body was found in the reeds in Spring Creek Park in Queens, just blocks from her home.
She had left her home less than an hour earlier, for her evening run at 5 p.m.

In an interview with Eyewitness News Friday afternoon, Phil Vetrano said his daughter often ran with him, although she chose to run alone that evening -- and she had run through the park at least once before, alone and without incident.
Since the murder, the outpouring has been extraordinary. Phil Vetrano established a fundraiser website that has raised more than enough to offer a $200,000 reward.
Now what he needs, and what he said Karina needs, is for someone to come forward and claim the money.
"She would want them to be caught, tried and convicted," Vetrano said. "She wouldn't want any backyard justice. She would want justice the right way. There needs to be an arrest."
Also on Friday evening, police raised their award amount up to $25,000.
