Kids in Colorado Springs accidentally served alcohol in a restaurant

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (WABC) -- A family in Colorado Springs went out to dinner along with several kids Wednesday and were accidentally served alcohol as part of a children's beverage at a local restaurant.

Trisha and Omar Montoya say their children ordered a "Shark Nibble" from the kids menu at a local Joe's Crab Shack and instead were given drinks prepared with alcohol.

About 30 minutes after the drinks were served, the manager came out and apologized for their mistake, and quickly took the drinks away.

At this point, the Montoyas were frightened because their 2-year-old had already finished her drink and was starting to feel sick.

911 was immediately called to the scene, and Colorado police are now investigating the incident.

Meanwhile, the Joe's Crab Shack corporate office released a statement saying "Joe's Crab Shack is aware of this incident at the Colorado Springs Location, and we are investigating this matter internally. We do not condone underage service of any kind. Our guests can rest assured that our processes are continuously examined so that incidents like this are avoided. "
