NEW YORK (WABC) -- There is no Fourth of July like the Fourth of July in New York City, and this year's Macy's fireworks show was extra special because it's the 40th anniversary.
It was Macy's largest display since the once-in-a-lifetime millennium show of 2000.
Even in the rain, the shorelines of Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn with an unparalleled spectacle of color, light and sound commemorating the holiday and our nation's heroes.
The 25-minute display, wowed spectators with 56,000 pyrotechnic shells, including new multi-colored transformation ghost shells that ignite in one color, disappear and reappear in another position in the sky having changed hues to blue jellyfish.
