PATCHOGUE -- Police on Long Island have rescued a man whose motorized hang glider got stuck in a tree about 70 to 100 feet above the ground.

Suffolk County police say the man is being treated at a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries after getting stuck around 4 p.m., Sunday.

It happened in a wooded area near an inlet off Conklin Avenue and Swan River Street in Patchogue.

Initial reports indicated rescuers were having trouble reaching the man.

Suffolk County police say they called in their own aviation unit and an NYPD helicopter to assist in the rescue.
