COLONIA, N.J. (WABC) -- Firefighters are battling a two-alarm fire in Woodbridge Township, New Jersey.

The fire started inside a home on Pine Tree Drive in Colonia Thursday night.

More than 75 firefighters responded to the scene from eight different departments.

The roof of the home collapsed.

The couple who lives in the home was at work when the fire broke out.

Their dog was locked in an upstairs bathroom and did not survive the fire.

The husband and wife returned home to find firefighters still trying to get the blaze under control.

"Flames were shooting out every part of the building when we arrived, every part of it. It was fully involved. It's tough, you know, the holidays are coming and here we are with something like this. You know, they are out working and come home from work and see that," said Jim Souza, of the Colonia Fire Department.

No one was injured in the fire. The cause is under investigation.
