NEWTON, N.J. (WABC) -- A Newton cop who was arrested in November, accused of exposing himself to male drivers last year, pleaded guilty in court on Monday.

Jason R. Miller, 37, was charged with three counts of official misconduct and lewdness for his actions over a 7-month period. The Newton Police Department received an anonymous tip in November claiming Miller exposed himself during a traffic stop.

The Sussex County Prosecutors Office said between March 1 and Oct. 23 2014, Miller made numerous traffic stops where he exposed himself to young male drivers. One of those young men placed an anonymous call to Newton police which began an investigation, said prosecutors.

Evidence was collected from dashcam video and other surveillance near the area where the man was stopped. Police said they found more victims who gave similar stories and Miller was identified by all of them.

In court on Monday, Miller waived his right to a trial and pleaded guilty based on what the victims said and what the cameras showed him doing, including zipping up his pants as he left the driver's side of the cars he'd stopped. Miller officially gave up his job as a part of a plea deal.

Miller had been suspended without pay pending the outcome of the case. He appeared in front of Judge Thomas Critchley at 2 p.m. According to a prosecutor's office press release, there is no indication that other members of the department were aware of Miller's actions.
