CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn (WABC) -- The NYPD is trying to figure out how a 35-year-old woman died after body was found inside a Brooklyn park.
It was a gruesome discovery for Kendale Golston on Saturday afternoon. At first he thought maybe it was someone lying in the park trying to cool down from the heat, but why in this heat, he wondered, would someone cover their face with a rag.
It was Golston's dog, Ginger that first noticed something was wrong.
"My dog pulled me over there, and all I saw was sneakers, and it was like somebody laying there stiff, and they wouldn't move," Golston says.
Police say the body was found inside the bushes at Brower Park near the Brooklyn Children's Museum around 2:30 p.m. Saturday with no apparent signs of trauma - no blood, no shots...nothing.
There were also no initial indications of foul play. This is leaving residents wondering whether it was an accident or something else.
"Well, no that's strange, there's barbeques and kids playing in the park next to a dead body," said Denzel Thomas.
"It is a shame, but you never know what happened. Somebody lost their life like that, you know?" adds Maryanne Martin.
The Medical Examiner is determining the cause of death. The other question that is still unanswered is how long the dead body was in the park.
