Small earthquake rattles towns in Northern New Jersey
A small earthquake rattled towns in Northern New Jersey.

KINNELON, New Jersey (WABC) -- A small earthquake rattled parts of northern New Jersey early Monday morning.

The quake was reported just after midnight - at 12:06 a.m. - and was centered around Kinnelon in Morris County.

The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake registered a 1.4 magnitude.

Officials said the earthquake could be felt in surrounding towns, including Butler and Bloomingdale. Some people even called in to report the quake was occurring.

No damage or injuries were reported.

- 0.6 miles ESE of Kinnelon, New Jersey

- 2.5 miles WSW of Pompton Lakes, New Jersey

- 3.7 miles SW of Wanaque, New Jersey

- 4.3 miles WSW of Oakland, New Jersey

- 57.2 miles NNE of Trenton, New Jersey
