IRVINE, California -- Police have released surveillance video they say shows an attempted kidnapping at a California store.
According to the Irvine Police Department, the woman was working alone at the Mon Beau Bebe store in the 6200-block of Irvine Blvd. when the suspect entered the store around 7:20 p.m. Saturday.
When the woman looked away, the man grabbed her by the hair and attempted to drag her into a storage room, police said. The man released her after she fought back and told him there were video surveillance cameras in the store.
Police said the man ran out of the store and through the Woodbury Town Center. He is described by police as an Asian male in his 40s, medium height and build. He was last seen wearing plaid shorts, a white short-sleeved shirt, tennis shoes and eyeglasses.
