NYPD K9 dog, Caesar, hurt in Brooklyn after he bites wire

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (WABC) -- A veteran New York City Police Department K9 was injured Thursday morning when he bit a live wire at Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn.

Caesar, a 9-year-old German Shepherd, ate the wire while sniffing around the NYPD facility at around 8 a.m.

He was taken to Fifth Avenue Veterinary Specialists at 1 West 15th St. by police escort, and is in stable condition.
