NEW YORK (WABC) -- Father's Day is just around the corner and summer is sizzling, but we have some cool deals to save you a huge chunk of change.
And believe it or not, back-to-school sales are starting at the end of the month, bringing us the beginning of great deals on tech. So wait on that grad gift, but not on certain steals for dear old dad.
If you're looking for ways to spoil your pops on June 19, indulge his inner carnivore. Meat purveyors like Pat LaFrieda's are offering Father's Day specials at their outlets and will even ship custom cuts for dad cross country and deliver to your door.
If you plan to get your grill on, Ben Glaser with Dealnews.com says don't get burned by the BBQ deals this June.
"Normally, we recommend that shoppers wait until August to pick up grill deals, even September," he said.
Most hot summer items like outdoor furniture will see only modest markdowns now, with much more to come later in the summer.
Glaser's best bets for Father's Day are traditional gifts, like shirts, ties and other clothing. Also, tools, camping gear and sports stuff are steals in June.
"It's one of the few times we really see seasonal items sync up with when people are demanding them," Glaser said.
This is also the month to get lucky with lingerie, as Victoria's Secret announces it's semi-annual sale, and all the other stores selling sexy follow suit.
"Sears offers 80 percent off underwear, also Soma and Fredericks of Hollywood," Glaser said.
Do not, however, expect deals on televisions. Save those purchases for Black Friday.
For tech this June, it's all about timing. At the end of the month, look for Apple and laptop discounts.
"On June 13, Apple begins its worldwide development conference," Glaser said. "We're expecting a new line of MacBooks, possibly a new Apple watch, and that means prices on the older generations will drop immediately."
And if you can believe it, back to school sales start end of June.
This month also brings us National Donut Day. So this Friday, June 3, look for free donuts at Dunkin' Donuts with a purchase of a drink. Krispy Kreme is offering one free donut per customer, and you don't have to even buy anything. Also, Entenmann's is offering a contest on Facebook with the chance to win free donuts for a year.
