Alex Rodriguez has stayed out of the headlines since being released by the New York Yankees in August.

The last we heard, his publicist, Ron Berkowitz, denied rumors that Rodriguez would play for another team this season, saying, "He is happy and he is going to take some time to relax and hang with his family and friends."

That's exactly what A-Rod has done in becoming a normal, boring dad.

See him here, with his morning Starbucks (they got his name right!) and two newspapers.

But that's not all. He has traded the pursuit of 700 home runs for helping with homework, carpooling and hitting the links with his family.

A-Rod did bring one aspect of his baseball playing home: handshakes.
