Alan Anderson has agreed with the Washington Wizards on a one-year, $4 million contract.

Though the deal can not be officially signed until Thursday, Anderson's agent, Mark Bartelstein, confirmed the terms of the deal to The Associated Press on Tuesday.

Anderson, 32, averaged 7.4 points and shot 44.3 percent from the field in 23.6 minutes per game for the Brooklyn Nets this past season.

The Wizards will try to make up for the loss of Paul Pierce with Anderson, Jared Dudley and Gary Neal receiving minutes on the wings.

The Nets currently have Joe Johnson, Bojan Bogdanovic, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, Markel Brown and Sergey Karasev at the wing. But Brooklyn has been active in shopping Johnson in an effort to cut its luxury tax bill. Mirza Teletovic ($4.2 million qualifying offer) is a restricted free agent.

NBA.com first reported the agreement.
