Veteran New York Knicks player and 10-time All-Star Carmelo Anthony has been a subject of high interest in recent months, as rumors continue to circulate as to which team he's headed for this upcoming season.
The latest buzz indicates the Houston Rockets top the list of Anthony's likeliest landing spots. ESPN'sAdrian Wojnarowski -- citing league sources -- said on Saturday that Anthony "expects the Knicks to resume trade talks soon and honor the franchise's long-standing goal to rebuild without him."
While Houston appears to lead the pack, the Portland Trail Blazers have recently emerged as an underdog contender in talks for Anthony. One of Portland's biggest stars, CJ McCollum, implied he supports adding Melo to the roster.
McCollum kept it simple in his regram of a photo of Melo wearing a Trail Blazers jersey, choosing to let the image speak for itself by not including a caption.
This isn't the first time McCollum has used social media to openly recruit a player to Portland. In April, McCollum tweeted in response to a fan's question asking the Portland guard whom he'd like to see the Blazers pursue in the offseason. McCollum's reply? Paul George.
McCollum's efforts didn't work on George, who was recently traded by the Indiana Pacers to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Will McCollum have any luck this time around with an attempt to lure Melo out West? To be continued.
