The New York Giants have added offensive line help by re-signing Will Beatty, according to a source.
The deal is for one year, with $1.1 million fully guaranteed and $750,000 in incentives, a source told ESPN's Adam Caplan.
Beatty should compete immediately at right tackle, where Marshall Newhouse has worked with the first-team offense all summer. The Giants offense has struggled so far this preseason. They have four first downs and 88 total yards in four quarters with quarterback Eli Manning on the field.
The Giants released Beatty in February as part of a series of moves to free up space under the salary cap.
Beatty, 31, missed the entire 2015 season after tearing a pectoral muscle lifting weights in the offseason.
The Giants used the No. 9 pick of last year's draft on tackle Ereck Flowers, who started 15 games at left tackle last season in Beatty's place.
Beatty was a second-round draft pick of the Giants in 2009 and was re-signed to a five-year, $37.5 million contract before the 2013 season. He struggled in 2013 but played better in 2014 before his lost 2015 season.
