Giants running back Shane Vereen re-injured his triceps in Sunday's 17-6 win over the Detroit Lions, according to New York coach Ben McAdoo.

When asked if Vereen re-tore the same triceps that cost him nine games this season, McAdoo responded:

"Yeah, Shane re-injured his triceps. It's unfortunate. He worked his tail off to get back to where he was, and I'm disappointed for Shane."

Vereen originally injured his triceps in a Week 3 victory over the Washington Redskins.

He returned to field on Dec. 11 in the Giants' 10-7 win over theDallas Cowboys, only to be placed in concussion protocol during that game.

He had been a limited participant in practice leading up to game against Detroit.
