Knicks forward Lance Thomas suffered a fractured orbital bone and has concussion-like symptoms as a result of an inadvertent elbow from Toronto big man Jonas Valanciunas.

Valanciunas hit Thomas with an elbow in the first quarter of the Knicks' 15-point loss to the Raptors on Sunday.

Tests confirmed that Thomas suffered the fractured bone in his face and the concussion symptoms. The results of the tests were announced by the team, which said Thomas will be evaluated further on Monday and will likely miss Monday's game against the Atlanta Hawks.

Thomas suffered a concussion last season and was placed in the NBA's concussion-protocol program. If he enters the program for his current concussion symptoms, Thomas will not be permitted to return to the court before being cleared by an independent doctor appointed by the league.

The Knicks may be without Thomas and Kristaps Porzingis (sore left Achilles) on Monday. Porzingis missed his second straight game on Sunday because of the injury, and Knicks coach Jeff Hornacek told reporters that Porzingis is doubtful for Monday.

The injuries come at a difficult time for the Knicks. The club has dropped 10 of its last 12 games and has three games remaining in a four-games-in-five-nights set.
