New York Mets left fielder Brandon Nimmo homered to right, singled to left, doubled to deep right and tripled to deep right in four consecutive at-bats.

It wasn't quite a cycle, though. The hits came against two different teams, in two different cities, on two different nights. A bi-cycle?

By the time he finished the Mets' 5-0 win over the Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday night, Nimmo had reached base safely in eight straight plate appearances.

"I didn't know it was eight straight until someone told me after after the game," Nimmo said "That's awesome.

"That's my job, that's what I'm supposed to do. .. I'm just glad I've been able to create some traffic for (Asdrubal Cabrera) behind me. He's really been carrying this offense for a while now and to be able to give him some more opportunities than just one in the game is really beneficial for him and for our team."

Nimmo was 4 for 4 with a walk Thursday -- a homer short of the cycle.

The homer came Wednesday night, a 410-foot shot off Marlins starter Dan Straily in the fifth inning at Citi Field Wednesday night. The single came three innings later, off a 95 mph fastball from Marlins reliever Adam Conley in the eighth inning of the Mets' 2-1 loss to the Marlins.

On Thursday, Nimmo opened the Mets' game against the Brewers in Milwaukee by doubling to deep right off starter Zach Davies. His triple led off the third, also against Davies.

Nimmo continued his hot hitting -- but hurt his chances for a real cycle -- by doubling to deep right off Davies in the fifth inning. He beat out a dribbler for a single in the eighth and had a walk in the sixth.
