The Cowboys are not facing tampering charges based upon Adrian Peterson's phone conversation with Dallas owner/general manager Jerry Jones -- an incident reported in a profile on Jones by ESPN's Don Van Natta -- according to league sources.

Just to be sure there was no problem, sources say Jones asked Cowboys general counsel Jason Cohen to place a call to the Minnesota Vikings after the story emerged. Cohen clarified what happened when a third party handed Jones a phone before a concert in AT&T Stadium on June 7. Peterson was on the line.

A Vikings executive told Jones they would not file a complaint to the league, and the league agreed, sources said.
