Rangers acquire former first-rounder Peter Holland from Canadiens

The New York Rangers have acquired forward Peter Holland from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for forward Adam Cracknell, it was announced Thursday.

The 26-year-old Holland, a former first-round pick in the NHL draft, had eight goals and 10 assists in 20 games for the AHL's Laval Rocket this season. He appeared in 48 games for the Arizona Coyotes and Toronto Maple Leafs during the 2016-17 season.

Cracknell, 32, was held scoreless in four games for the Rangers this season. He had two goals for the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack.

Holland will report to Hartford, while Cracknell will report to Laval.
