New York Knicks center Robin Lopez plans to play in the team's regular-season opener Wednesday despite dealing with an undisclosed minor injury recently.
"I'll be ready for it, yeah," Lopez said Friday.
Lopez signed a free-agent deal with the Knicks this offseason worth four years, $54 million.
New York opens up at Milwaukee on Wednesday.
The New York Daily News earlier reported Lopez's injury.
"Yeah (I've been dealing with a physical ailment), but it wasn't anything too serious," Lopez told the Daily News following Thursday night's preseason finale in Boston. "I'm on the right track. I'm getting back to where I want to be and I'm almost there. It's nothing serious. Just the regular wear and tear."
Lopez shot just 41.9 percent from the field in five preseason games while averaging 6.8 points and 4.0 rebounds in 18.2 minutes.
Brought to New York for his defense, rebounding and other intangible qualities, Lopez holds regular-season career averages of 8.2 points and 5.0 rebounds in 21.2 minutes on 53.2 percent shooting.
