New York Giants running back Rashad Jennings is expected to miss his second straight game Monday night with a thumb injury, multiple sources told ESPN.
Although he is expected to miss the game, Jennings could be active and available to play in an emergency situation against theMinnesota Vikings, according to sources.
Jennings was always a long shot to play after being limited in practice throughout the week. The Giants had been preparing to go with a backfield of Orleans Darkwa, who is expected to start, and Bobby Rainey.
The Giants lost leading rusher Shane Vereen to a triceps injury last week against the Washington Redskins. Vereen was placed on injured reserve, and his season is likely over.
