Sources: Langston Galloway agrees to contract with Pelicans

Langston Galloway has agreed to terms to join the New Orleans Pelicans, sources told ESPN.com's Marc Stein and Ian Begley.

Contract details were not immediately available. Galloway, a Louisiana native, appeared to confirm the deal via an Instagram post.

TheNew York Knicksrecently made Galloway an unrestricted free agent when they rescinded a $2.7 million qualifying offer they had extended to him to clear cap space and sign guard Brandon Jennings.

Galloway, 24, averaged 7.6 points in 25 minutes per game last season for New York. In the first three weeks of the season, he was among the NBA's leaders in 3-point field goal percentage, but he cooled off over the course of the year, finishing at 34 percent from beyond the arc. He finished the season with per-game averages of 2.5 assists and 3.5 rebounds.

Galloway, a combo guard, was one of the few bright spots for the Knicks during their 2014-15 season. A January call-up from their D-League team, Galloway ended up earning second-team all rookie honors.

Galloway went undrafted out of Saint Joseph's University.
