NEW YORK -- Nancy Seaver, the wife of Hall of Famer Tom Seaver, is upset that the New York Mets have no statue honoring her husband outside of Citi Field.

Mrs. Seaver told the Daily News the omission is "ridiculous" and added: "I'm embarrassed for [the Mets]. I really am."

Most MLB ballparks have statues honoring legends outside their stadiums -- including Willie Mays, Lou Brock, Mike Schmidt, Roberto Clemente and Cal Ripken to name just a few -- but the Mets are not among them. Not for Seaver. Nor for any 1986 heroes. Nor for soon-to-be-inducted Hall of Famer Mike Piazza.

"They should have a statue for all those numbers they have retired on their wall -- Seaver, Gil Hodges, Mike Piazza," Nancy Seaver told the newspaper.
