The day has finally come: Tim Tebow is set to appear in his first major league spring training game for the New York Mets.
The former NFL quarterback will bat eighth and DH for the Mets in a split-squad game against the Boston Red Sox and reigning AL Cy Young winner Rick Porcello in Port St. Lucie, Florida, on Wednesday.
How do you think Tebow will fare in his first at-bat?
Tebow's foray into Major League Baseball has been controversial since he announced his intent to to play the sport and signed with the Mets. He made his professional debut in the Arizona Fall League last year, hitting .194 with two RBIs and 20 strikeouts in 62 at-bats.
With his minor league career set to begin, where will he start the season? Will he ever make it to the majors? And how do you feel about the whole Tebow experiment?
In addition to Wednesday, Tebow is also expected to appear in Grapefruit League play on Friday, when the Mets face yet another pair of split-squad games.
