Woman killed after fire breaks out in apartment in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn

BAY RIDGE, Brooklyn (WABC) -- An investigation is underway after a deadly fire engulfed an apartment in Brooklyn.

Officials say one woman was killed when flames broke out in the kitchen of a third floor apartment in Bay Ridge.

The fire started around 11:30 Saturday night and was under control a short time later.

There is word on what may have caused the fire.

No one else was injured.
