MIDTOWN, Manhattan (WABC) -- Queen Camilla visited the New York Public Library on Wednesday afternoon during her trip with King Charles III to New York City.
There was a lot of excitement at the New York Public Library for Queen Camilla's visit.
Actress Sarah Jessica Parker was her guide through the library, along with Anna Wintour and other important figures in U.K. and U.S. publishing and literary circles.
But the uncontested highlight for a group of lucky public-school children was the reading the queen did for them from an excerpt of Winnie-the-Pooh.
Right before, she gifted the library a brand-new Roo doll, to join the library's famous collection of original Winnie-the-Pooh dolls, marking the 100th anniversary of the publication of the beloved children's book.
"People from all over the world visit every year to meet the real Winnie-the-Pooh and friends, which are on free and permanent display for all to see in the Library's Polonsky Exhibition. On behalf of the Library and our millions of visitors, we thank Her Majesty Queen Camilla-and we welcome Roo to New York City. Roo will help us continue to share the wonder and magic of this timeless story with readers of all ages for generations to come," said Anthony W. Marx, President and CEO of The New York Public Library.
The collection of dolls was donated to the library in 1987 and has been on permanent display ever since.

The queen's visit to the library came after her stop with King Charles III at the 9/11 memorial.
The royal couple went separate ways Wednesday afternoon, and the king headed up town to Harlem, where there was intense security during his visit to an urban sustainable farm called Harlem Grown. There, he met with children learning about sustainable farming in the city. The king's interest in environmental initiatives is well known.
The king and queen will later meet at Rockefeller Center with economic leaders from both sides of the pond, as promoting economic partnerships is an important goal of this royal visit.
They will then take part in another event celebrating cultural partnerships between the two countries.
